Language packs

English comes with Overseer. Pick any other language under Translation in the panel and it downloads by itself, or get a pack here and unzip it into localized_data\<code>.

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
  • Umamusume: Pretty Derby on Steam, Global or Japanese
  • The game in windowed or borderless mode

After you download

  • Unzip it, then double-click Overseer-v1.2.0.exe, from any folder
  • The first time, Windows may show Windows protected your PC, because Overseer is not code-signed: choose More info, then Run anyway
  • If your antivirus objects, that is a known false positive: the FAQ has the steps
  • New versions: the panel tells you and installs them with a restart, and each one is announced on the Discord

Need to remove it and Overseer will not start? Download the uninstaller.

Get Overseer only from this site or the Icarus Discord. A copy from anywhere else may not be the real one.

What's new

Version 1.2.0November 2026

A rebuilt engine

  • Every part of Overseer that talks to the game has been rebuilt from the ground up, with more than 1,500 automated tests behind it.
  • Everything here runs on both clients, Global and Japanese.

A new control panel

  • Every page redrawn in one calm look: black and white with the Inter typeface, and colour only where it means something, such as the five stats.
  • Long explanations now wait in panels that appear when you hover a control, so each page leads with its controls.
  • High contrast and the colour-vision modes across the whole panel, and a first-run wizard on a new install.

Translation

  • A health check shows whether translation is working, with a Repair button and an automatic restore of a damaged pack.
  • Language packs download the moment you pick one, so the installer carries English only.
  • A new English pack for JP, with lines that wrap where the Japanese layout expects them.

Performance and settings

  • vSync is its own switch, separate from the frame-rate cap.
  • A new settings file, grouped by area and easy to read. Your old settings move across by themselves.

Updates

  • New versions now come straight from overseer.moe: the panel tells you, downloads the update and installs it with a restart.
  • Signed updates: an update or a language pack is installed only if it carries Overseer's signature.

Racing

  • Race chances: win, top-3 and runs out of stamina for every runner, at the entry screen, before you commit.
  • Race Field: one table for the field before the gates and the finishing order after them.

Skills

  • Detailed skill descriptions: the exact effect and trigger of every skill on Global, built from Global's own data.
  • Skill Optimizer for race time: buy the skills that take the most seconds off a chosen race.

Translation

  • Twelve languages in the download, five of them new, all on Global and JP.
  • One-click model download, and the translation model no longer uses memory while it is off.

Tools and the panel

  • Room Finder, a Rating Calculator, a Friendship forecast, deck profiles and a Roster of every trainee you own.
  • Telemetry has its own page, with every data export beside it.
  • Veterans, Roster, Webhooks, Catalogue and the Dashboard rebuilt in one clean look.
